Dies Sextus

In this work, Ivica Petraš explores the moment when nature shifts from chaos to harmony, from darkness to light — the sixth day of creation, the day when the world takes shape and comes to life. Layers of oil are applied richly and impulsively, creating a surface full of energy and movement. Warm tones of ochre, purple, and gold clash with cool bluish shadows, while the viewer’s gaze is drawn toward the luminous center — a symbol of emergence, enlightenment, and hope. Through a harmonious blend of abstraction and landscape suggestion, the artist opens a space for personal interpretation: is this a dawn, a creation, a memory, or a revelation? Dies Sextus invites the observer to pause before their own moment of beginning.
