WinStage at the Open Studios Days 2026: Over 5,000 m² of Art to Discover, Experience and Own

October 17th and 18th, 2026 in Wiener Neustadt – free admission, personal encounters with artists and art at all price ranges at the "Days of Open Studios".

On October 17 and 18, 2026, studios, workshops and art spaces open throughout Lower Austria – and WinStage is right in the middle of it. "The Home of Art" in Wiener Neustadt is participating in the Open Studio Days, powered by Kulturvernetzung Niederösterreich, and invites visitors on both days from 10 am to 6 pm to experience art in a special way. Admission is free and no registration is required.

Not a studio, not a gallery – a stage for everyone

WinStage is deliberately neither a studio nor a classical gallery. Visitors can expect something different: an open stage for contemporary art that doesn't make selections but opens up possibilities. This is exactly what makes the appearance this weekend such a special occasion – WinStage shows what the nationwide initiative stands for in concentrated form: direct encounter between audience and artists, barrier-free access and the joy of discovery.

On over 5,000 m² of exhibition space, the artists personally engage in dialogue with the public. They tell the stories behind their works and provide insight into their working methods and sources of inspiration. Personal conversations replace the distance of the white cube – art is not just viewed here, but experienced.

The artists on site

On both days, those personally present include: Christof Seiser, Elisabeth Leyrer, Günther J. Reiter, Isolde Engeljehringer, Kornelia Mauernböck, Marie-Louise Irbinger, Rosemarie Rabl, Sonia Nier and Tijana Stankovic.

Curation? Deliberately not.

WinStage does not curate – and understands this as its program. While classical exhibition venues make selections, WinStage directs the view in the other direction: every artist gets the opportunity to exhibit. The result is a unique breadth – works by established, well-known names, positioned works by promising newcomers, and discoveries that might never have made it into a showcase without this openness.

We want art to remain no privilege. With us, anyone can exhibit – both those already established and those whose work no one has yet seen. This weekend we show what happens when you celebrate art instead of filtering it," says Bernhard Jeitler, Stage Manager.

The absence of a curatorial threshold also means access to artworks at all price points: from the first picture for the living room to collector's pieces, everyone finds something here. The artists themselves determine the prices – at WinStage, no one has a price dictated to them. WinStage also takes no commission, which is directly reflected in the price range of the works: the proceeds go where they belong – to the artists. Art becomes experienceable and attainable, without barriers.
